The Misto orb

misto

One calm home for everything your family watches, synced across every TV in the house and kept private.

Invite-only · Free and open source under GPL-3.0

What It Does

Built for the Living Room.

Misto is an Android TV app and a small private website for your household. The app plays; the website keeps everything in order.

Up to Four Screens at Once.

Multiview puts two, three or four streams on one TV. Pick the one you hear, swap them around, and add another without leaving the game you are watching.

Live TV With a Real Guide.

Bring your own playlists and program guides. Browse channels in a TV guide, keep favorites per profile, and jump straight to what is on now.

The Same Everything on Every TV.

Each profile's library, watch history, Continue Watching and service sign-ins follow it from the living room to the bedroom. Sign in to a service once and every TV has it.

Backups and Restore, From Here.

Every TV backs up its profiles each day. Download a backup, upload an old one, or send a restore to a TV from your phone. The TV asks before applying it.

Private by Design

Your Household, Nobody Else's.

Invite-Only

There is no public sign-up. Every account starts with a one-time invite from the household owner.

Two-Step Verification

Every sign-in needs a password and a code from an authenticator app, with one-time recovery codes as a backup.

Encrypted at Rest

Synced records, backups and sign-ins are encrypted on the server. Keys and tokens are never shown on the website.

Open Source

Made in the Open.

Misto is free software under the GPL-3.0 license, maintained by mlp2069. It is based on Nuvio by Tapframe and contributors, and keeps their work and credits.
